Slate CRM Request

Overview

  • Slate is the university's new CRM software, with phase 1 (prospects and inquiries) launched June 12, 2023 and Phase 2 (application to decision) launched mid-2024. Phase 3 (enrollment), which includes Academic Advising, Gateway, and TRiO functionality is currently underway, launch expected late Spring 2025/early Summer 2025.

  • Staff that have access use StarID@minnstate.edu to log in at https://choose.metrostate.edu/manage/ 

  • A group of staff has been training as super users and can be the first point of contact for questions about Person lookup, pre-set query use, mailings, forms, and Availability (Slate's replacement for Bookings). Super user list attached.

  • Staff using Availability in Slate will have standard URLs for students to book appointments with. That standard is https://choose.metrostate.edu/portal/your_name_here with the italicized portion being your name in lowercase with the spaces replaced by underscores. It is recommended that you place that in your browser and confirm functionality, then copy from the URL field to populate links in your signature or elsewhere.

  • Metro State staff with or requiring access to Slate may request:

    • Account and Profile assistance - Create login and assist with login issues

    • Training on advanced functions (Training on core Admissions processes is provided by Admissions.)

  • Participating departments may request:
    • Communication Campaign assistance

    • Slate configuration changes (rules, security roles functions, fields, prompts, data integration/upload formats, changes to homepage widgets)

      • IET will review requests and assess options and impacts.

      • Requests will be discussed/decided on during the standing Steering Committee meeting with IET and affected leadership across the university.
