CAP Server Access Request

Overview

• Access to the CAP Server is meant to protect sensitive information necessary to complete job duties .

• You will be notified when you have the proper permissions to use Remote Desktop to connect to the server.

• When connecting to the server, you will log in using your StarID and StarID password.

• Faculty and staff with justifiable business need are eligible to request this service.

Benefits

• Allows access to Minnesota State ITS ad hoc reporting databases from secured computers

• Prevents access to Minnesota State ITS ad hoc reporting databases from unsecured computers

• Enables campus IET managed security and access controls on all ad hoc database access

• Enables auditable access to ad hoc databases

• Consolidates ad hoc access to a limited number of actively managed servers

How To Request

• Complete the Operational Data Security Request Form.

• Include the name of the database you intend to access.

• Send the form to Records.Registration@metrostate.edu

• Submit this request for CAP Server Access.
