Overview

This article outlines how to utilize the technology options available in the room.

Audio Only

This setup is used in situations that require only using the voice lift capabilities

  1. Select Audio Only from the touch panel
  2. Adjust mic settings as needed
    1. The labels on the columns match the labels on the microphone in the cabinet
    2. The mics need to be replaced in the same place they are stored

  3. Select the “X” in the upper right when done

Audio Setup Notes

  • To use the voice lift features in the room, you will need to use a microphone. The ceiling mics help the video cameras identify were to focus and to help cancel background noise; the fixtures ceiling mics are not used to amplify a speaker's voice.
  • All of the table mics are controlled by the one Table Mic control.
  • Any of the microphones can be used in the Audio setup.
  • IMPORTANT: Make sure to return the microphones back into the same charging station where they were obtained. This is important to maintain the microphones' settings for zoom. 

Local Presentation (displays to room only)

This set up is used to display a presentation in the room without online broadcasting.

  1. Select Local Presentation on the touch panel
  2. Select the room layout and press the arrow in the upper right to continue
    Be sure to press the arrow in the upper right corner after you make a layout selection.
  3. Select the source to send to the monitors in the room 
    The buttons in the middle of the screen select the source to display to the room
  • Room PC
    • This uses the computer at the podium to project to the room monitors. 
  • Presenter HDMI
    • This allows the presenter to connect their device to the monitors via the HDMI cable.
  • ShareLink
    • This allows the presenter to wirelessly display their device to the room monitors
    • To use ShareLink, press ShareLink on the console and follow the instructions on the monitors.
  1. Upon start up, the A/V Hidden button is on and your presentation will not be displayed; when you are ready to display your presentation, unselect the A/V Hidden button
  2. Once you are done, press the Shutdown button and power off the mics and displays (the PC can stay on, just be sure to log out)

Display Layouts

The default setup is to use the Room PC at the lectern where the all the left displays show the same thing and all the right displays display the same thing.

To change what is displayed on each side:

  1. Select Display Layouts at the bottom of the touch panel
    They Display Layouts button at the bottom of the touchscreen in the middle column
  2. In the left column, select what you want to display on the left monitors in the room.
  3. In the right column, select what you want to display on the right monitor.

Note: The speakers in the room are connected to the display that is being presented.

Example: To present a video from a laptop on the right screen, in the Right Display Video Source select Presenter HDMI, then select the Right Display audio source button.

Audio Setup

  • Any of the microphones can be used in the Audio setup.
  • IMPORTANT: Be sure put the microphones back in the same charging station they started in. This is important to maintain the microphones’ settings for Zoom.

Zoom

This setup is for hosting or recording meetings through Zoom. You will need to use the lectern PC to run the zoom meeting as it is connected to the cameras and microphones in the room.

  1. Log into the lectern PC and get your materials ready
  2. On the Zoom console, press Join and enter your meeting ID number.
  3. Select Zoom on the touch panel
  4. Select the room layout and press the arrow in the upper right to continueAfter selecting your room layout, be sure to select the arrow in the upper right corner of the screen.
    At this point the room camera will display on the left monitor, and the participants will appear on the right.
  5. Select a source to display to the room monitors. Your content will take the place of the room camera on the left monitorChoose the button that corresponds to where the source used in the room.
    • Room PC
      • This uses the computer at the lectern to project to the room monitors.
    • Presenter HDMI
      • This allows the presenter to connect their device to the monitors via the HDMI cable.
    • ShareLink
      • This allows the presenter to display wirelessly to the room monitors
      • To use ShareLink, press ShareLink on the console and follow the instructions on the room monitors.
  6. Deselect the A/V Hidden button to display content to the room.
  7. To share content to the people in the Zoom meeting:
    • Select the content source you want to share on the touch panel
    • Select Share Content on the Zoom console.
    • Press Share to Meeting on the “HDMI is Connected” popup on the Zoom console

Camera Setup

The default setting for the cameras to be set on auto-tracking. The microphones in the ceiling help identify which zone the camera should be focused and cancel the noise from the other zones for the people online. The handheld and table microphones pinpoint the location the cameras should focus.

You can turn auto-tracking off by selecting the Camera Settings button on the left. You will only be able to manually control the camera in the back of the room.

Audio Setup

When using the Zoom set up, the microphones programmed to be in specific areas in the room so the cameras can find who is talking and focus on them. The handheld and lavalier microphones are programmed to be near the lectern.  The table microphones are programmed to be placed in specific areas of the room based on which room layout is selected. The maps of the layouts are below:
