What is Packback?
Packback is an online platform for discussions and written assignments that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to coach students to ask better questions and iteratively develop as thinkers and writers. It also automatically checks for plagiarism and use of generative AI (GenAI), coaching students to correct these issues. It is integrated with D2L Brightspace and there is no additional charge for students to use this tool.
How to Set Up Packback in a D2L Brightspace course

Go to the course module where you'd like to add Packback and select Existing Activities.

Select External Learning Tools and then select Packback.

Select the Packback link that was added to the module. It will initiate the Setup Wizard.

On this page, select an existing community or Create a New Community to fill out the community details.

Double check the information and select Save and Continue to the bottom of the page.
Once steps are completed, students can then use that link to be added to the community and access activities on the Packback platform.

Packback provides direct assistance, as well as individualized technical training with D2L Brightspace.
