About Employee StarID Notification Email
Minnesota State StarID
system sends email notices when your password changes or is about to expire to your StarID Notification email.
Rather than using your university email, It is suggested a different email be used for
your StarID Notification email
, usually a
personal email
that you actively check on a regular basis;
this way, if you can't access your university email
because you forgot the password or your password has expired,
you can use this email address to obtain a verification code
, used to verify your identity,
so that you can reset your password
.

Part 1)
Workday Steps
1)
Log into Workday. Direct link to Workday:
http://www.myworkday.com/minnstate/login-saml2.htmld
2)
Select
profile
, person icon, located in the upper-right of Workday
3)
Select
Contact
located in the left column navigation
4)
Select
Edit
button, located toward the top of the page
5)
Within the
Home Contact Information
section, scroll down to
Additional Email
and select
Add
button
Important Note
: In step 5, ensure you have added Email from
section:
Home Contact Information
(i.e.
Not
, from Work Contact Information section)
6)
Enter email address, and make sure to select the Checkmark button to
Save
.
Within 24 hours, this email address should update to StarID Self Service as your
StarID Notification Email
.
7)
After 24 hours, proceed to StarID Self Service steps below.
Part 2)
StarID Self Service Steps - 24 hours after email update in Workday
1)
Go to StarID Self Service:
https://starid.minnstate.edu/
, 24 hours after you have made the email address update in Workday
2)
Select
Sign in to Profile
and Sign in. Once signed in, you will be in the StarID Profile tab will be reflected by default.
3)
Under
StarID Notification Email
, select the
pencil icon
. The email address you added should be reflected for selection.
Note: By not updating your email address in StarID Self Service, it will still function as your StarID Notification email, however selecting the added address will more clearly and accurately help remind you which email is your StarID notification email.
