Introduction
Department Supervisors and employees eligible to make requests on behalf of the supervisor will submit this request to Human Resources to initiate the steps involved with Separation/Offboarding an employee.

- Submits Resignation in Workday

Hiring Supervisor of the Separating Employee
|
- Select the Request Offboarding blue button and complete the online form to initiate process.
- Download the Employee Separation Offboarding Checklist that contains pre-separation instruction and activities that need to take place before or on the Employee's last day.
- Collects and ensures Building Key(s) and all State owned assets are accounted for prior to employees last day on campus.
- The separated employee’s state owned technology assets are delivered to the IET Service Center located in NM L103.

Human Resource Specialists |
- Receives or submits the employee offboarding request to initiate process.
- Begins to process employee record and other internal tasks.
- Works with all departments identified and Supervisor as needed.

Institutional Effectiveness and Technology |
- Assist employee with moving files as needed.
- Disables all network access as defined per policy and procedures.

Campus Operations |
- Collects the employee key(s) from the Supervisor and removes card access for location & rooms as appropriate.
- Receives Parking Cancellation notice and removes access to Parking Ramps.

Separation/Offboarding Steps
- Employee submits resignation in Workday which triggers an auto notification to the employees supervisor.
- Supervisor or delegated staff member submits the Request Offboarding online form to initiate process.
- Supervisor will download the Employee Separation Offboarding Checklist, within two days following termination date this checklist should be signed and submitted to HR.
- Automatic notifications and tasks will be assigned to resources involved in collecting assets and removal of network access.
- Supervisor will work with Employee leaving prior to departure to ensure all activities have been completed.
