Overview:
- Through Virtual Lab students can access their network Home Drive (H:)
- Note: the H: drive can only be accessed using the Metro State Virtual Lab or by using on-site lab computers.
Instructions to access network Home Drive (H:) through Virtual Lab
Through Virtual Lab students can access their network Home Drive (H:)
- Step 1) Access Virtual Lab from a personally owned computer or from a campus lab computer:
- If you are accessing Virtual Lab from a personally owned computer navigate to https://labs.metrostate.edu.
- If you are accessing Virtual Lab from a campus lab computer, Log in to the computer using your StarID and password (username is StarID only, do not use StarId@minnstate.edu for Username). After you have entered your StarID credentials skip to step 4 and continue with the instructions.
- Step 2) You will be presented with a splash screen with two connection options:
- For Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Chrome devices select Install VMware Horizon Client (recommended). For detailed instructions see section: VMware Client Install > Virtual Computer Lab Access.
- For HTML access select VMware Horizon HTML Access. For detailed instructions see: Virtual Computer Lab Access.
- Step 3) Log in to the Virtual lab environment with your StarID and password (username is StarID only, do not use StarId@minnstate.edu for Username).
- Step 4) Once you have selected My Lab, from the Virtual Lab windows taskbar, right-click on the File Explorer folder icon and select File Explorer.
- Step 5) From the left side navigation select This PC.
- Step 6) Under Network locations you will see your home drive (H:) designated with your StarID.
