Overview
The eduroam wireless network is the primary, official wireless network used by Metro State University and all students, faculty, and staff should be using this as their preferred wireless network. Users connecting to eduroam are encouraged to use the Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) when configuring their endpoint as it streamlines the configuration process and is officially supported by InCommon, the higher education body managing and supporting eduroam.
Instructions
The following instructions are intended to support CAT installation on devices running the Apple macOS operating system.
- From a web browser navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org and select the Click here to download your eduroam® installer button.

- Select Minnesota State Colleges and Universities from the organization list.

- Select the eduroam® button to download the installation file.

- The eduroam CAT file download will start shortly. A welcome screen will display with a direct link to use, should you encounter issues with the automatic download,

- Once the download completes, navigate to and double-click or press enter to open the installation file.

- A notification will appear on the macOS desktop that the profile has been loaded and must be reviewed in System Settings to proceed.

- Navigate to System Settings and select Privacy and Security then select Profiles to view the added profile. Double-click the eduroam profile to continue.

- Next the profile configuration criteria, signature and certificate settings will display. Select Install to proceed.

- Select Continue to confirm installation of the new profile.

- Enter your Minnesota State username and password then select Install to continue with the profile installation.
(Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu and StarID password, Employees: StarID@minnstate.edu and StarID password)

- The Minnesota State acceptable use policy will be displayed. Review the notice and select Install to continue.

- Enter your computer credentials to authorize the profile install.

- The eduroam profile will now be installed.

- Navigate to the wireless icon in the top-right corner of the macOS desktop and select eduroam from the list of Known Networks. You are now connected to the eduroam wireless infrastructure.
