eduroam - Forget / Delete Network

Overview

  • An important step in troubleshooting wireless network issues is to forget a Network connection to remove any potential conflicts.  
  • Problem description: Device has previously connected to eduroam network and presents a password or network authentication error that may be remediated by forget  WiFi network troubleshooting instructions provided in this article.

Instructions

Should your personally owned device encounter issues connecting to the Minnesota State eduroam network, or you have recently changed your password, you may need to ‘Forget Network’ wireless connection. Use the instructions listed below to ‘forget’ or delete a previous connected network, or search for your specific device instructions.

Android

  1. Go to Settings on your device and select Connections
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Depending on version of Android, either press and hold eduroam or select the gear icon.
  4. Select Forget.

Chromebook

iPhone, iPad, or Mac

Windows 11

  1. Open the Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Select Network & Internet.
  3. Select Wi-Fi.
  4. Select Manage known networks.
  5. Select Forget next to eduroam.

Windows 8 or 10

  1. Select the Network icon on the lower right corner of your screen.
  2. Select Network settings.
  3. Select Manage Wi-Fi settings.
  4. Under Manage known networks, select eduroam.
  5. Then select Forget.

Windows 7

  1. Start the Network and Sharing Center by right-clicking the WiFi icon in the lower-right-hand corner of your screen.
  2. In the Tasks pane, select Manage wireless networks.
  3. Right-click on eduroam, and then select Remove network.
  4. In the Manage Wireless Networks - Warning dialog box, click OK.
