eduroam - CAT Install on Windows 11,10, 8, 7, Vista

Overview

Students, faculty and staff who are connecting to eduroam wireless are encouraged to use the Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT).  The following instructions are intended to support CAT installation on personally owned devices on systems with Microsoft Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and Vista operating systems.

Instructions

  1. Using a web browser from your device navigate to https://cat.eduroam.org
  2. Select button, Click here to download your eduroam installer.

  3. Select Minnesota State Colleges and Universities from the organization list.

  4. Select the eduroam® button to download the installation file.

  5. Once the download completes, navigate to and double-click or press enter to open the installation file.

  6. Once the installation screen appears, select Next.

  7. The installer will prompt you with a notice that it will only work if you are a member of Minnesota State. Select OK to proceed with the installation.
  8. You will be presented with a notice of Minnesota State System Procedure, explaining the acceptable use of this resource.  Please review the procedure in its entirety.  When completed, select the Accept checkbox and then select Next.

  9. Enter your Minnesota State username and password information then select the Install button.

  10. Select Yes to install and accept the digital certificates supporting the Minnesota State authentication servers.

  11. The eduroam CAT installation will now proceed.
  12. When the Installation is complete, select the "Finish" button to complete the CAT installation.
  13. Navigate to the wireless status icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your Windows Desktop.  This will provide a display of the wireless networks in your environment.  You should now be connected to eduroam.

Additional Resources

Should your personally owned device encounter issues connecting to the Minnesota State eduroam network, or you have recently changed your password, you may need to ‘Forget Network’ wireless connection.
