Windows 11: Getting Started

As part of IET’s ongoing effort to ensure that Metro State is on the cutting edge of technology, we are excited to announce the upcoming upgrade to Windows 11. This upgrade will enhance performance, improve security, and provide access to new features designed to improve the user experience for both faculty, staff and students.

Why Upgrade to Windows 11?

  • Enhanced Security: Windows 11 provides better protection against cyber threats, offering more robust encryption and security features.
  • Improved Performance: Faster and more efficient, Windows 11 is designed to boost productivity with its streamlined interface and optimized resource management.
  • User-Friendly Design: A modern, intuitive user interface with improved accessibility features.
  • Long-Term Support: Microsoft will provide regular updates and long-term support for Windows 11, ensuring the system remains current and secure.

What Do You Need to Do?

  • Contact IET if you are interested in being an early adopter of Windows 11.
  • In our preliminary testing, applications on your existing computer will function.
  • As we replace computers though the CRP process, your new device will have Windows 11 installed on it. If you encounter any issues or need assistance during the migration, the IET support team will be available.
  • IET will contact you when your device will be upgraded.
