StarID Account Access - Employees

Employee StarID Account Access:

Employee StarID account access is controlled and managed by a Minnesota State affiliation process. The affiliation is activated based on assignments input by Human Resources. Many Metro State and Minnesota State technology services, applications, and access are associated with this process. When employees leave the institution, their access will remain in place based on their assignment dates. Please note that during any type of separation, Human Resources reserves the right to terminate access immediately.

The length of time your account will be enabled is based on your assignment reflected in the list below.

  1. Staff - Access is defined for 21 days after separation date.
  2. Community Faculty - Access is defined for 180 days days after the end date of the last class. The 180 day access is for the online version of email and Office products.  Any locally installed version on their personal device, will no longer be active after 2 weeks from the end of the semester.  If a teaching assignment is provided, the locally installed version will automatically become activated.   Community Faculty do however have the ability to access the full version of email and Office products beyond the the 2 weeks using the virtual lab.
  3. Resident Faculty - Access is defined for 365 days after the end date of the last class.
  4. Emeriti - Upon Emeriti award, access will remain active indefinitely. (Email, M365, Zoom, Media Space, Adobe) Emeriti have access to email and Office products as outlined by the Community Faculty guidelines above if they are teaching. If the are not, Community Faculty have access to email and Office products online or in the virtual lab indefinitely.
