Metro Moment Employee eNewsletter Request

Overview

  • Metro Moment employee eNewsletter is sent out to the METRO-Announce listserv most Mondays to highlight relevant information for Metro State employees.

  • Requests can include Important and Urgent Announcements, Student Services (for items relating to or to be communicated to students),items of General Interest to Metro State employees, Metro in the Media (Metro State community members mentioned in outside media channels), Events listings (items linking to Events Calendar listings—note that all events on the Events Calendar will have date and title linking to the Event page, as has been the case for Metro Moment for some time), and Accolades (announcements of awards and exciting developments for members of the Metro State Community. 

  • Submissions are reviewed and edited for clarity, brevity, and style with the audience and medium in mind. Keep submissions to Metro Moment to 250 words or less. 

    • hints for publication style: spell out months in full (September, not Sept.), times should only include minutes if they are not on an hour (example: 9 a.m., 4:30 p.m.) and should have a.m. or p.m. lowercase including periods.

    • Underlines, all caps, and italics are likely to be removed from final publication. Some bolding for emphasis will be retained where appropriate. 

    • Other helpful style hints can be found in the university's Editorial Style Guide

  • Include a url in the appropriate field to link to a more in depth article or webpage

  • Include contact information for your submission in the appropriate field

  • Incomplete or unclear submissions may require more information and delay the ability to publish. 

  • Requests are evaluated and published on the most appropriate channel(s) based on the criteria of relevance, timeliness, interest, and impact. 

  • Faculty, staff, student organizations, and members of the campus community are eligible to request this service.
