- Cisco Jabber is a unified communication tool to manage phone calls.
- E911 RLM software allows phone location information to be shared with 911 emergency services when 911 is dialed using Cisco Jabber.

3) Once I have submitted request for Cisco Jabber software how do I attain the software?
Windows PC Devices:
- After your software request submission Institutional Effectiveness and Technology (IET) will notify you that your user profile has been added to Jabber. You will then be able to follow instructions provided in this article to install Cisco Jabber and E911 RLM Software.
Mac Devices:
- After your software request submission, IT Services will schedule a time to have the software installed on your computer.
Instructions: Windows Cisco Jabber / E911 RLM Software Install
Please note: After the software install a restart is required.
- Step 1) From the Windows task bar in the lower-left of your screen, perform a search for Software Center.
- Step 2) Click on Software Center from the search results.
- Step 3) Click on Cisco Jabber, then click on Install. Depending on your network connection, the install could take several minutes.
- Step 4) After the install has completed, in order to complete the software configuration, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Please restart your computer.
- Step 5) After restarting your computer, along with the Cisco Jabber software, the E911 RLM software will also be installed. This software allows 911 emergency services to share phone location information in the event 911 is dialed on Cisco Jabber.
- Step 6) Desktop shortcut and System tray icon:
- The Cisco Jabber icon should now display on your desktop.
- In the System tray, located in the lower right of your screen, click on the up arrow to check for the E911 RLM icon indicated by a green dot.
