Student instructions to access JetBrains account
Students will need to be logged in to Virtual Lab in order to create a JetBrain account.
- Access Virtual Lab from a personally owned computer or from a campus lab computer:
- If you are accessing Virtual Lab from a personally owned computer navigate to https://labs.metrostate.edu. then proceed to step 2
- If you are accessing Virtual Lab from a campus lab computer, Log in to the computer using your StarID and password (username is StarID only, do not use StarId@minnstate.edu for Username). After you have entered your StarID credentials skip to step 4 and continue with the instructions.
- You will be presented with a splash screen with two connection options:
- Log in to the Virtual lab environment with your StarID and password (username is StarID only, do not use StarId@minnstate.edu for Username).
- From the Programs menu launch the CLion, WebStorm or PhpStorm
- Important Note! The steps will need to be completed for each application

- A Manage Licenses screen will open. Select the "License Server" Radio button
- Add the Server Address: https://metrostate.fls.jetbrains.com
- Select Activate

- Note: You must use your Metropolitan State University student or employee email, ex. firstname.lastname@my.metrostate.edu for account creation and logon access.
- Select Create an account to create your account
- Reminder: use your Metro State student email
- Student Email: firstname.lastname@my.metrostate.edu
- Employee Email: firstname.lastname@metrostate.edu
- Create a unique password that you will only use for your JetBrains account

- Upon successful completion a screen verification will display "Authorization Successful". Reminder: each application within JetBrains will need completion of these steps.
