Admissions CRM-Slate

Summary

Outlines features of phase 1 implementation of Slate as well as high level picture of post implementation structure.

Slate CRM has been in use for Admissions for processes supporting prospects and inquiries starting Monday, June 12, 2023. While the change may have been invisible to most Metro State administration and staff, in this early stage there were several improvements, including: 

  • A new Request for Information form, Group Visit / Presentation request form, and the ability to self-schedule Campus Tours and appointments with their assigned counselor.

  • Prospective students who request information will be added to an automated email drip marketing campaign (new feature not available in RNT); they will also now be assigned to a specific Admissions counselor for ongoing Admissions follow-up and questions. 

  • Admissions will gain efficiencies in reduced manual data entry, improved counselor communication with their assigned students, and duplicate record management.  They will have improved visibility into previous interactions and into data related to their assigned prospective students.   

Phase 2 data (application to decision) was stepped out over the course of a year, launching in June 2024. Additional improvements built alongside the data integration include:

  • Event management for university-wide events and information sessions.

  • Direct admissions counselor appointment scheduling for assigned staff, accessed by students via the metrostate.edu webpage.

  • Drip campaigns (automated communications to the specific population) for prospects, inquiries, and applicants.

  • GradCAS, BusinessCAS, and NursingCAS data integration with all graduate application processing moving to Slate in January 2025.

The first two phases will continue to be iteratively improved and expanded. In addition, planning for phase 3 (Gateway, TRiO, and Academic Advising with enrollment and other necessary data) has begun. Phase 3 roll-out is expected in spring of 2025. The Slate CRM Steering Committee meets every two weeks to discuss proposed changes and priorities.

Admissions and IET currently share post-implementation responsibilities related to use, maintenance and expansion of Slate for Admissions.  They are outlined within the Slate CRM Request and the attachment within it. As each department onboards to Slate, those post-implementation responsibilities will be inherited. Departmental super-users are being trained to assist their departments with daily tasks and will use the ticketing system to request Slate IET admin assistance.
