MS Teams: Update Team name

Summary

Microsoft Teams name changes may be required when a department name changes or reorganizes.

Body

Who has permissions to update a Microsoft Teams site name, will depend on where it was initially created.

  1. For Teams sites your department has created, an Owner of the site can update the name: 
    1. Next to the Teams site name, select ellipses (…)
    2. Edit team
    3. Modify the name
    4. Update
  1. For department Teams site that was created for you by IET, request the name change through Get Help>Report an Incident on services.metrostate.edu.
