Access USB files from your local computer

Steps:

  • Note: You must use the Horizon Client to share folders and drives on the local client system with Metro State's Virtual Computer Lab.
  • Insert the USB device into your local computer or docking station.
  • Log in to the Virtual Computer Lab using the Horizon Client.
  • You will see the prompt below, select Allow.

  • Now you can access the USB device by clicking on the Horizon Toolbar at the top of the screen.

  • Go to File Explorer and your connected USB device will be displayed.


Access local drive files

Steps:

  • Note: You must use the Horizon Client to share folders and drives on the local client system with Metro State's Virtual Computer Lab.
  • Log in to the Virtual Computer Lab using the Horizon Client.
  • Click on Options on the Horizon Toolbar at the top of the screen.
  • Now click on Shared Folders.

  • There are two options:
    • Click Add to select specific folders on your local computer.
    • Click the Share your local files checkbox to access folders within your local computer user profile, for example:
      • Desktop
      • Documents
      • Downloads
      • Pictures
