Overview
This article provides information about Library 306, including room capacity, type, technology, and photos, as well as instructions to connect and display a computer, and troubleshooting guidance.
Room Overview
- Maximum capacity: 40 individuals
- The technology supports general classroom functions only (not hyflex).
Accessibility
- A microphone is available for voice amplification.
This section will help you set up the technology for a class or presentation.
Presentation Setup
The room is equipped with a PC, HDMI cable, and USB-C cable, and document camera at the instructor podium and a projector. The control panel at the instructor station is used to turn on the system, select your input source, and adjust the volume.
- Press the ON button to turn on the projector
- Choose the input you would like to display:
- PC displays the instructor station monitor
- HDMI displays what is connected to the HDMI cable
- USB-C displays what is connected to the USB-C cable
- Doc Cam displays the view from the document camera
- When you are finished, press the OFF button to turn the projector off
Notes
- MUTE cuts the connection from the device to the projector. This can be used in cases like retrieving a file from an email account.
- VOLUME controls the ceiling speakers. This is separate from the volume level on your device.
Microphone
The microphones are located at the instructor podium, sitting in their charging stands.
- Remove a microphone from the stand and it will turn on automatically
- The microphone volume can be adjusted using the control panel
- The third button in the right column turns the volume down
- The last button in the right column turns the volume up
- Press the button on the microphone to mute it temporarily if needed, and press it again to unmute
Panel Layout

The panel has two buttons in the top left, a dial in the bottom left, and a group of eight buttons on the right.
- The two buttons in the top left turn the projector on and off. The left button turns it on; the right button turns it off.
- The dial in the bottom right controls the volume of the room speakers. Turn clockwise to increase the volume, counter clockwise to decrease the volume.
- On the right side of the panel are eight buttons arranged in two columns and four rows.
- The first column contains buttons to select which input is connected to the projector. From top to bottom these are: PC, HDMI, USB-C, and Doc Cam.
- In the second column Mute is the first button, used to toggle on and off the feed to the projector.
- The second button is blank.
- The third and fourth buttons control the microphone volume; the third button increases the volume and the fourth decreases it.

The instructor PC is not responsive
Check that the instructor PC is on. The PC is located in the podium stand. The power button should be illuminated white to indicate the PC is on.
There is no sound in the room
There are two independent controls for volume in the room. The first is the dial on the control panel that controls the ceiling speakers. The other is the volume on the device connected to the projector.
- First, check the sound level on your device.
- Then, check the sound level of the room speakers on the control panel.
