Instructions: Set up email account on Apple Mail

Steps:

  • Step 1: Go to 'Settings' ⚙️.    
  • Step 2:: Select,'Passwords and Accounts'

  • Step 3: Select 'Add Account'

  • Step 4: Select 'Exchange'.

 

 

  • Step 5: Enter your Office 365 Login and 'Description'

              Employees: StarID@minnstate.edu 

              Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu 

              Description:   (Name this account- example: Metro State email)      

 Server: outlook.office365.com

 Domain: minnstate.edu

  • Step 6: Select 'Sign In'.

  • Step 7: Enter your 'StarID Password' and Select 'Sign In'. You may also get prompted to respond to a multi-factor authentication prompt.

  • Step 8: Ensure the listed options are select (green) and 'Save'

  • Step 9: Verify the new account exists.

  • Step 10: Select 'Mail' application on your device.

  • Step 10: Select 'Mailboxes'.

  • Step 11: Select the 'Description' account name you selected for your email to view emails for that account.

Note: It may take some time to sync completely.


Mail Days to Sync

Optional: The standard mail days to sync is set to one month. If you would like access saved emails older than one month, this setting will need to be changed. If you would like to change the setting, continue with steps 9 and 10.

Step 12: Open 'Settings' > 'Passwords and Accounts' (the same steps as 1 and 2 above).

Step 13: Select 'Mail Days to Sync' and change it to 'No limit'.
