Checking Voicemail From Your Desk Phone
- The light on the top of your hand set will turn red when you have a new voicemail message.
- There are two ways you can access your voicemail from the desk phone:
- You may dial 5202 to access the voicemail system, then follow the prompts to login with your PIN.
- Or press the voicemail button on the desk phone. It is an icon located on your phone that looks like a cassette tape. Follow the prompts to login with your PIN. You may listen and manage your voicemail message by following the prompts.
- Once finished, you can select the option to exit the menu or hang up the handset if picked up.
Log on to Voicemail from a different Phone
- Dial 5202 (on-campus) or 651-793-1202 (off-campus).
- Press the star (*) key when the auto attendant answers.
- Enter your extension followed by the pound (#) key.
- Enter your PIN followed by the pound (#) key.
Accessing Voicemail Messages via the WebEx application
The Cisco WebEx application is installed on all employee laptops. The Cisco WebEx mobile app can be installed on any mobile device.
- Log into the WebEx application with your StarID@minnstate.edu and password.
- Click or tap on the voicemail icon (cassette tape icon).
- A list of all voicemails will appear.
- Click or tap on the voicemail message to select it.
- You may play the message by clicking or tapping on the play button (triangle button).
- You may delete the message by clicking or tapping on the delete button (trash bin).
Accessing Voicemail Messages via Email
By default, all employees will have a copy of their voicemail messages sent to their Office 365 Outlook email account.
The voicemail message will be presented as an email with a .WAV attachment. You can download that message and listen to it through your computer.
Please Note: Deleting the voicemail message from email does not affect the orignal message in your voicemail box. Please manage voicemail messages by either using the WebEx application or by going to https://user.webex.com/
Accessing Voicemail Messages via a web browser
The University voicemail system can be accessed via the web from any device with a Internet connection. On a web browser, employees may go to https://user.webex.com/.
Log in using your StarID@minnstate.edu and password.
- Click on Settings in the left side menu.
- Click on Calling in the top menu, then click on the Voicemail in the new menu below.
- Click on Manage voicemails.
- A list of all voicemails will appear.
- To download a voicemail message, click the check box to the left of the message, the click on the Manage button, then choose download.
- To delete a voicemail message, click the check box to the left of the message, the click on the Manage button, then choose delete. Or, click on the trash bin icon to the right of the message.
