Metropolitan State University offers free notary services to the campus community to make it easier to handle important documents right on campus!
A notary public is an official authorized by the state to verify identities, witness signatures, and deter fraud. When a document is notarized, the notary confirms that:
- The signer is who they say they are
- The signer is signing willingly
- The signer understands what they are signing
Notaries do NOT provide legal advice or explain the contents of a document - they simply verify identity and witness the signature.
What to Bring:
- All signers must be present at signing and must provide a valid, current photo ID for each person.
- Completed document, minus the signature.
