Notary Publics

Summary

Public Notary services at Metro State

Body

Metropolitan State University offers free notary services to the campus community to make it easier to handle important documents right on campus!

A notary public is an official authorized by the state to verify identities, witness signatures, and deter fraud. When a document is notarized, the notary confirms that:

  • The signer is who they say they are
  • The signer is signing willingly
  • The signer understands what they are signing

Notaries do NOT provide legal advice or explain the contents of a document - they simply verify identity and witness the signature.

What to Bring:

  • All signers must be present at signing and must provide a valid, current photo ID for each person.
  • Completed document, minus the signature.
