Question:
- How do I connect to VPN with my Metropolitan State University Windows 10 laptop?
Answer:
Please follow these steps to get connected each time you are using your university issued computer remotely to successfully connect using VPN. You may notice that you can't connect to your home wireless network or cellular hot spot with your work laptop if you don't follow these steps and may be unable to access resources with your work laptop. 1) Reboot your laptop. Do NOT log in when you get back to the log in screen. Follow the steps below instead.
2) Make sure you are connected to your wireless network or cellular hot spot by clicking on the network icon and selecting a network to connect to.

3) Once you get connected to wireless, click on the button that looks like two monitors in the lower right to connect to VPN.

4) You will see a notification that says "Connecting, please wait..." with the VPN logo.

5) When you get to the Windows log in screen, log in to your computer with your StarID and password and verify you can connect to websites, you can get to your mapped drives (S:, H:) and other resources.
You can also verify you are connected to VPN by clicking on the "show hidden icons" arrow in your task bar and hovering over the VPN icon.
